The implementation of TOFAS serves as a cornerstone for Egypt's educational transformation.

Addressing Regional Disparities and Advancing Educational Reform through the Nationwide Implementation of TOFAS

Through our partnership with SPRIX, a Japan-based education company, Egypt is introducing data-driven approaches to strengthen foundational academic skills nationwide. One of our most urgent national priorities has been to enhance students’ core competencies, particularly in mathematics, logical reasoning, and problem-solving. To address this challenge, we selected TOFAS, developed by SPRIX, as a key pillar of our ongoing education reform.

Today, Egypt is using TOFAS to assess numeracy and programming skills, while also supporting the development of computational thinking and other future-ready competencies essential in the age of AI.

One of TOFAS’s major strengths is its ability to enable large-scale national assessments without placing an excessive burden on schools. During the pilot phase, we confirmed its effectiveness, scalability, and practicality. Assessment results can be delivered promptly to schools, providing timely feedback to students, parents, and teachers. These timely insights also support an efficient Kaizen (continuous improvement) cycle, allowing us to refine teaching methods, curriculum design, and learning support based on concrete evidence.

Furthermore, with the valuable support of SPRIX, Egypt has begun the nationwide rollout of AI and programming curricula, while also introducing Japanese-style mathematics textbooks, known for their emphasis on strong fundamentals, structured learning, and long-term skill development.

This collaboration reflects not only the strength of SPRIX’s educational expertise, rooted in Japan’s proven education model, but also the deepening strategic partnership between Egypt and Japan, built upon a long-standing history of educational cooperation and shared commitment to human capital development. As TOFAS expands globally, we see it as a bridge connecting Egypt’s learners to international benchmarks and broader opportunities, helping to nurture a new generation with confidence, measurable growth, and global readiness.

Global collaboration is essential. It enables us to continually recognize the progress, value, and potential of TOFAS, and we remain fully committed to advancing this initiative even further. We look forward to further deepening our cooperation with SPRIX across a wide range of educational fields, in close collaboration with our partners in Japan, as we continue working together to support Egypt’s learners and future generations.
